Wednesday 25th February

Today we were introduced to our client - Mr Newman. We were told what our task was and made notes on what we needed to know. We then 'unpicked the brief' and wrote the clients name, project title. summary of the brief, what are their ideas for the commission, what the function of the work is for, the intended audience and the constraints. This is our portfolios.

We also started researching other sixthform and colleges adverts to get get some codes and conventions and see what works well and doesnt. This will help us with our advertisements.
I am exited to start this project, it is something new and exiting especially as it will actually get advertised! Also the target audience is year 11's so this is appropriate as we know what appeals to year 11's.
I am concerned that it might be quite hard and lots of thought and research will need to go into it and this will be difficult as we are doing two different projects at the same time.
I hope to achieve a really good, unique advertisement which attracts year 11's to come to the sixth form.
I hope to learn a lot throughout this project such as learning how to use different resources and learning to work independently and managing my time.
In response to the brief i am quite intrigued to make a DVD or radio advert as these sound interesting and fun to do and also i think these will appeal to the audience mostly.
I am going to be as creative as possible in this project using lots of different types of media in order to advertise as best as possible.
I will need a lot of skills for this project for example: filming, editing, music, being creative, time management.
I will have to make sure the project is completed by the end of the summer term (July) so i will make sure i keep on top of my work as i go along and set small deadlines for myself to make sure each task is done.
:)
